In California in 1965, Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek, at the time colleagues at the UCLA film school, started the band The Doors, so named after a verse by William Blake. Shortly thereafter they met John Densmore and Robby Krieger, who also became band members. With unreleased footage from rehearsals, behind the scenes and performances, the documentary sheds light on the group’s powerful meteoric career, which in five short years became one of pop music’s most influential. Screened in Berlin and Sundance film festivals in 2009.
